M-F 9am-4pm, by appointment only
Required Documents
The veteran's complete name used while in service, Service number, Social security number, Branch of service, Dates of service, Date and place of birth (especially if the service number is not known)
Eligibility
Service member, veteran or next of kin; unless public record
Fees
Generally free or a small service fee (including for DD214); Official Military Personnel Files are $25-70 depending on size
Intake Procedure
Submit online, by mail or fax; forms available on website, at VA offices or write to request a form. To make an appointment email kansascity.archives@nara.gov
