Description
Early Preschool: Offers early preschool classes where children learn through hands on experiences. Materials, activities, and the subject matter are appropriate to the age, abilities, and interests of the children. Pre-School: Offers preschool classes where children learn through hands on experiences. Materials, activities, and the subject matter are appropriate to the age, abilities, and interests of the children. Junior Kindergarten: Offers Jr. Kindergarten classes where children complete activities that promote fine motor/perceptual skills, language development, math and science skills. Enrichment: An option for children in the Junior Kindergarten classes that extends the morning program where children are offered a short outdoor play time which is followed by a curriculum that offers the extended learning of the fine arts, topics include books and authors, artists and different types of art, and music. Spanish is also offered one day per week. Project Child: A free preschool program that is combined with the agency extended day program.

Early Preschool: Classes are offered two, three or five days per week Two-day classes are Thu and Fri - 8:30am to 11:30am Three-day classes are Mon-Wed - 8:30am to 11:30am - Early Preschool can be a morning only class or can be combined with extended day Preschool Classes: Classes are offered two, three or five days per week Two-day classes are Thu and Fri - 8:30am to 11:50am - Three-day classes are Mon-Wed - 8:30am to 11:50am - Preschool can be a morning only class or can be combined with extended day Junior Kindergarten: - Classes are offered five days/week or can be a three day class - Five day classes are Mon-Fri - 8:45am to 1:45pm - Three day classes are Mon, Tue and Wed - 8:30am to 11:30am - Junior Kindergarten can be combined with the extended day program for families who need care for the full day Enrichment: - Classes are offered three days per week or five days per week - Five day classes are Mon-Fri - 8:30am to 1:40pm - Three day classes are Mon-Wed - 8:30am to 1:40pm - Enrichment can also be combined with the extended day program for families who need care for the full day Project Child: Mon-Fri - 8:45am to 11:15am or 12:30pm to 3:00pm

Eligibility
Early Preschool: Children who are age 2 years by Sept. 1 of the current school year Preschool: Children who are age 3 years by Sept. 1 of the current school year Junior Kindergarten: Children who are age 4 years by Sept. 1 of the current school year, and is also an ideal class for children who would benefit from starting kindergarten when they are age 6 years rather than age 5 years Enrichment: Children who are age 4 years by Sept. 1 of the current school year Project Child: Families must be eligible by meeting at least a couple of qualifiers and income guidelines, consider the following questions to determine if qualified for program. - Child must be at least 3 years of age and not eligible to attend Kindergarten - Did child have any problems at birth or have any recurrent health problems? - Does family have added stresses such as divorce, new marriage, recently moving, illness in family, parent deployed, etc.? - Are you a single parent? - Could use financial assistance in paying for preschool? - Has a parent or older sibling had difficulty in school? - Is English second language?

Early Preschool, Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Enrichment: Direct client payment - call for details Project Child: - No fees, program is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education - Subsidized services (CHASI) is also accepted to help pay for childcare
Intake Procedure
Early Preschool, Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, Enrichment: Call Or Apply In Person Project Child: - Contact the agency Parent Coordinator - A parent interview/home visit is conducted, which will help to determine if family meets any of the above conditions - A preschool screening is also done, using the Dial-4, which is a quick assessment in key areas of development

Summer camp is offered for 10 weeks during the summer for children, includes activities, special visitors and field trips.
